Description/Duties :
|
Provide door to door transportation (using an Access shuttle bus) for elderly and disabled persons unable to use the mainline bus system. Drivers need to familiarize themselves with various runs and routes of regular passengers, comply with all city, county, state, federal, SPT/FPA safety rules, laws, policies procedures and regulations, conduct Daily Vehicle Inspection (DVI) of each vehicle prior to use; report all malfunctions to supervisor, and maintain a professional, courteous, and caring relationship with all passengers, and general community.
Must have a clean driving record for the past 5 years; successfully complete 80 hours of employer training; preferably possess a current Commercial Driver's License Class C with Passenger Endorsement OR obtain a CDL License with Class C with Passenger Endorsement prior to being placed into service; successfully pass background check and drug tests; able to read a map; be able to maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, and general public; be familiar with Seattle and King County; able to handle multiple tasks at same time and have effective oral and written communication skills.
Seattle Personal Transit is currently open seven days a week from 4 AM to Midnight. Each shift is 10 hours in length and we have part- time and full-time positions available. This is a union position paying $11.59 per hour plus benefits which include medical, dental, short- term and long-term disability insurance benefits, generous paid vacation and sick leave and holiday benefits and pension plan.
