Your EPS career begins as a Patrol Constable, providing vital front-line police service to Edmonton’s one million citizens. With your creativity and growing community knowledge, you’ll solve problems for which there are no textbook solutions. A typical workday is full of variety. You could respond to a call for a collision, an assault and a robbery – all on the same shift.
With Patrol experience under your belt, you’ll be able to explore over 100 career paths and find the one that’s right for you – like Tactical Unit, Forensic Identification Services or School Resource Officer.
EPS takes care of you. You’ll earn $50,000 from day one of training, receive a $2,000 signing bonus and $2,000 moving allowance, and make over $75,000 by your fifth year of service. Alberta’s exceptional health care system and our extensive benefit plan will cover the health needs of you and your family. And after 25 years, you will be eligible for an excellent pension.
