Description/Duties :
|
Use your vast knowledge of computers to provide technical training and support to schools, non-governmental organizations, and municipal government offices around the world. Put your passion, education, and work experience in the area of information technology to use on an international level.
Peace Corps Information Technology Volunteers set up networks and websites, troubleshoot, maintain and repair computers, develop databases, create marketing materials and do graphic design. Projects involve teaching basic computer literacy to students and teachers; linking entrepreneurs to new business opportunities, including e-commerce; expanding farmers’ access to information on market prices; and providing forums for communities to share ideas about development activities.
Peace Corps currently has overseas openings for Information Technology Volunteers. Most positions are in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South America and the Caribbean; limited opportunities exist in Asia and Eastern Europe. Placement in a specific country can not be guaranteed.
